Located in the center of Connecticut and America’s historic New England region, Bristol Hospital has been a healthcare staple for almost a century. Founded in 1919, Bristol Hospital has been continuously growing to meet the needs of a developing community. The hospital is located only 20 miles from Hartford, the state capital and home of the University of Connecticut.
Bristol Hospital offers a full range of patient services. The facility has recently completed the construction of a 50,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art surgical center, the emergency department’s Express Care Unit, and has a three-year plan to expand the Emergency Care Center with the ultimate goal of a completely new Center. Bristol Hospital is the base station for EMS and is the Regional EMS Training Center.
Bristol Hospital features a full-service ED and a four-bed Express Care Unit staffed by our specially trained and experienced emergency medicine physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
The MEP team provides care for more than 40,000 patients annually at Bristol Hospital.
Home to ESPN’s corporate headquarters and broadcast studios, Bristol has been recognized by Money magazine as one of the top 100 American small cities. Its convenient location offers easy access to the big-city amenities and attractions of Hartford, but also provides abundant access to rural recreational activities. From rock climbing to fly fishing to river rafting to eye-popping fall foliage hikes on the National Appalachian Trail, the region has something for all ages and tastes.
School System
Bristol’s ten elementary, three middle, and two high schools provide excellent public education for the 24,000 households of which approximately 29% have children under the age of 18. In addition to the public school system, the area also offers a number of private schools.
