MEP is seeking an experienced double-boarded EM/IM Residency-Trained Physician to be our Director of Observation Medicine. EM Boarded Physicians with significant Observation Medicine experience are also encouraged to apply. The Director position is a split of clinical and administrative duties with protected administrative hours.

Founded in 1977, Southern Maryland Hospital Center (SMHC) is a 275- bed full-service hospital that serves patients from the Washington, D.C.Beltway region and Southern Maryland. In addition to state-of-the-art patient services including emergency angioplasty, SMHC is a Maryland-designated stroke center. Full-time, in-house Intensivist, Hospitalist, Obstetrician, Pediatrician and Anesthesiologist coverage is also available. Physicians have scribe support on every shift.
